Paul James Shook was born July 28, 1926 and departed this life Saturday, April 27, 2013 reaching the age of 86. He was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Ann (Smith) Shook.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Gilbert and to this union 3 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Barbara Shook; 1 son, Brian (Angela) Shook; 2 daughters, Diane (Russ) Goff and Carla (Roldana) Rivera; 7 grandchildren, Rochell, Christopher, and Matthew Goff, Nicholas and Sonia Rivera, Kasey and Khloe Shook; and 1 great grandchild, Xavier Paul Goff. He is also survived by: 1 brother, John (Carol) Shook; and 1 sister, Joanne (Nelson) Bennett; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Shook, he was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, Verl, Vern, and George Shook; and 5 sisters, Beatrice Shook, Esther Shook, Ethel Smith, Jean McGee, and Geraldine Doan.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 30th after 5:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will also be Tuesday, April 30 at 7 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 1st in the Fredonia Cemetery at Fredonia, Kentucky.
