Paul Francis Garner was born May 29, 1928, and departed this life Sunday, September 24, 2023, reaching the age of 95 years. He was the son of the late Elisha Harrison and Ima Flossie (King) Garner.
He married Elizabeth Charlene Matthews and to this union three daughters were born.
He is survived by: three daughters, Paulette Keeton (Glenn), Sherry Gehring (Jerry), and Sheila Dishman (Danny); four grandchildren, Carrie Ann Starkey, Paul "Barkley" Gehring, Kimberly Charlene Powell, and Ashley Brooke Newman; twelve great grandchildren, Zak, Cassi, Megan, Peyton, Tanner, Reed, Charley, Jackson, Greyson, Bronson, Rubye, and Lincoln; and eight great-great grandchildren, Adyson, Brystol, Reece, Skyler, Liam, Emma, Ella and Ember .
He is also survived by: two sisters, Mary Weston and Nida Worley New; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Elizabeth Charlene Garner; three brothers, Pascal, Bill, and Harold Garner; and one sister, Shirley Shepherd.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 28, 2023 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Hospice of Lake Cumberland
Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
