Obituary

Patricia Ann Thompson was born September 6th, 1944 in Freeport, Illinois, and departed this life Saturday, June 13th, 2026 in Monticello, Kentucky after reaching the age of 81 years. Patricia was the daughter of Sebastian (Pete) Serrano and Marcene Kubly.

Patricia married Glen Thompson on October 6th, 1963 in Freeport, Illinois. Patricia and Glen had two children, Laurel and Michael. Patricia worked many years at Micro Switch before retiring with Glen and moving on to their new adventure and home in Monticello, Kentucky in 1996.

In addition to her husband Glen, Patricia is survived by: one daughter, Laurel Dewitt in Monticello, Kentucky and one son, Michael Thompson in Wahpeton, North Dakota; three grandchildren, Rane Dewitt, Mason Dewitt, and Taylor Thompson; and great grandchildren, Bailee Dewitt, Adynn Dewitt, Ryder Dewitt, Knightly Dewitt, ObsidianDewitt, Ivy Dewitt, and River Dewitt, special niece Amy Kubly, several other nieces, and a nephew.

Patricia is also survived by one sister, Vicki Simmons.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bradford Kubly.

Patricia was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, relative and a very kind and amazing friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Patricia was a member of Gap Creek Baptist Church for 30 years where she taught Sunday School. Patricia volunteered at the Hope Center and the Wayne County Hospital. Patricia was active in the Wayne County Extension, and the Wayne County Jail Ministry. Patricia touched the lives of so many people in such a positive way and Patricia made this world a much better place.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, between 1 pm - 3 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 3 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Gap Creek Cemetery following the funeral service.
