Orville Eugene
Correll
December 3, 1933 – August 10, 2025
Orville Eugene Correll was born in Wayne County, KY on December 3, 1933, and departed this life on August 10, 2025. He was the youngest and last member of the Grover and Emma (Wray) Correll family.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anna Ruth (Bell) Correll, their only daughter, Rebecca Preston-Brothers (Anthony), two granddaughters, Savannah Fain (Spencer) and Elizabeth Preston, all of Lexington, KY.
After graduating from Monticello High School, Orville became a member of the National Guard. He was soon drafted into the army and spent two years in Germany. After being discharged in 1957, he and Anna Ruth married and spent the next 38 years in Lexington. Orville retired from Western & Southern Life Insurance Co. and Anna Ruth from the Fayette County Board of Education. They returned to this home in Mill Springs where they now reside.
Orville loved sports and was actively involved way beyond his years, especially basketball and water sports. He also loved hunting and fishing, making many trips out west and to Canada. Lake Cumberland was his most visited friend, and his boats could be likened to a home where family and friends often gathered.
During the family's time in Lexington, they were active members of Southland Christian Church and are now members of First Baptist Church here in Monticello.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.
