Obituary
OLIVER DEWITT "DEE" SLAVEN was born March 10, 1913 and departed this life July 20, 2006 reaching the age of 93 years. He was the son of the late Elmira Slaven Gregory.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Cooper Slaven. To that union seven children were born. The eldest son, Estil Slaven, also preceded him in death.
He was united in marriage to his beloved Hamia Lucille Piercy for 35 years and she precedes him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Milton and Wayne Slaven; four daughters, Betty Antrobus, Ellyn Jones, Juanda Meeks, and Patricia Dotson; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mae Agee, Flonnie Slagle, and Flo Carter; and one brother, Carl Gregory.
His brothers, Everett, Goldman, and Stanley Gregory preceded him in death.
He was a loving father, grandfather, relative, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation: Monday, July 24th after 6 pm
Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 25th at 10 am
Interment: Elk Spring Cemetery
