Obie Frilba Gossage, Sr. was born May 19, 1943 and departed this life Monday, October 11, 2021 reaching the age of 78 years. He was the son of the late Frilba and Roxie (Walker) Gossage.

He married Olene Patton and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Olene Gossage; one son, Obie (Julie) Gossage, Jr. ; one daughter, Tina (Billy) Hancock; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by:  four brothers, Richard, Ronald, Paul Ray, and Jimmy Gossage; and two sisters, Verdina Bilbrey and Vanda Guffey; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one brother, Donald Gossage; one sister, Mary Gladys Heinzl.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 17, 2021 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
