Oakley Crabtree was born October 24, 1930 and departed this life Sunday, September 12, 2021 reaching the age of 90 years. He was the son of the late Harve and Lela Mae (Smith) Crabtree.

He married Betty Lou Denney on November 5, 1949 and to this union four children were born.

They were blessed with four children: Mary Souders, Oakley Jr. (Rebecca) Crabtree, Jerry (Patricia) Crabtree, and Shawn (Krista) Crabtree; seven grandchildren: Jarritt (Nichole) Sharpe, Michelle (Randy) Morrow, Jason Souders (to Mary); Josh (Sara) Crabtree, Adam (Amanda) Crabtree (to Oakley Jr.); Kirkland Crabtree (to Jerry) and Austin Crabtree (to Shawn); seven great-grandchildren: Chayton and Cade Sharpe (to Jarritt), Tanner Morrow (to Michelle), Sylvia and Eli Crabtree (to Josh) Harper Crabtree-Boneta (to Adam), and Kaylie Crabtree ( to Kirkland); along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Harve and Lela Crabtree, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Crabtree; one brother, Ray Crabtree; and two sisters, Maggie Crabtree and Sarah Dobbs.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2021 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Crabtree Cemetery.
