Obituary
Newell Desco "Dudie" Hicks was born April 9, 1938 and departed this life Tuesday, August 16, 2016 reaching the age of 78 years. He was the son of the late James and Daisy (Stinson) Hicks.
He married Ruth Rains and to this union two children were born.
He is survived by: his wife, Ruth Hicks; and two sons, Allen Hicks and Teddy Hicks. He is also survived by: one brother, Billy Hicks; and one sister, Neecie Dishman; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, James and Daisy Hicks, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Raymond "Ramie" Hicks, Mintford "Beardy" Hicks and Sherman Hicks; and five sisters, Nannie Pyles, Mary Dishman, Grace Brown, Sina Ann Hicks, and Bertha Hancock.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2016 after 11 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 12 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Hicks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Newell Hicks Memorial Fund
