Neta (Frye) Shrum Baker was born January 2, 1929 and departed this life on Saturday, July 13, 2013 having reached the age of 84 years. She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Leora (Martin) Frye.

She is survived by: 3 sons, Glen Allen Shrum of Burnside, KY, David Odell Shrum (Connie) of Hermiston, OR, and Terry Lee Shrum (Rhonda) of Raleigh, NC; 1 daughter, Pam (Shrum) Hatcher (Thom) of Lexington, KY; and 1 step son, Larry Baker (Lavada) of OK. She is also survived by: 6 brothers, Harold, Don, Thurston, Fred, Paul, and George Frye; 3 sisters, Sue Bertram, Louise Reed, and Helen Denney. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents George and Leora Frye she is preceded in death by: her first husband Odis Shrum; her second husband Ed Baker, 1 sister Frances Groce; and 1 step son, Robert Baker.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 after 5pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 2pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
