Nadine McCune was born September 12, 1928 and departed this life Thursday, August 25, 2011 reaching the age of 82. She was the daughter of the late Rupert Orvin and Cordie (Manco) Abbott.

She was united in marriage to James McCune and to this union 2 children were born.

She is survived by: her daughter, Anne (Joe) Sawyer of Monticello, KY; and 4 grandchildren, Jennifer and Adam Sawyer, Anthony (Audrey) McCune, and Elizabeth McCune. She is also survived by: 1 brother, Kenneth (Marian) Abbott of Berea, KY; and 6 sisters, Juanita Coffey, Wanda Lee Humble, Gwen (Lawrence) Dick, and Brenda (Walter) Orr all of Monticello, KY, Linda (Dale) Perdue of Wilmore, KY, and Carlotta Abbott of Lexington, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Rupert and Cordie Abbott, she was preceded in death by: her husband, James McCune; her son, Michael James McCune; 1 brother, Orvin Rue Abbott; and 1 sister, Nancy Ipock.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 2 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Stan Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
