Montis Hancock was born January 30, 1930 and departed this life Tuesday, March 04, 2014 reaching the age of 84. He was the son of the late James Wesley "Jimmy" Hancock and Verdie (Bertram) Hancock.

He was united in marriage to Lois Irene Denney and to this union three children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Lois Hancock; one son, Billy Hancock; two daughters, Barbara Hancock and Helen Tucker; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy and Verdie Hancock, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Oplis, Nonnie, and Lonnie Hancock; and two sisters, Ova and Delphi Hancock.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2014 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
