Montie A. Sutton, of Monticello, Kentucky, was born on March 30, 1962, and departed this life on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 64. He was the son of the late William "Bill" Sutton and Bessie (Watson) Sutton.
Montie was formerly married to Loretta Sutton, and together they were blessed with two children.
He was truly one of a kind. He lived life on his own terms, did things his own way, and never met a stranger. He loved to laugh, loved to have a good time, and enjoyed being around family and friends. His larger-than-life personality, sense of humor, and unforgettable stories will be remembered by everyone who knew him. He was authentic, independent, and unapologetically himself, and those who loved him wouldn't have wanted him any other way.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Loretta Sutton; his daughter, Chantica Troxell (Seth); his son, Miles Sutton; grandchildren, Emma, Eilise, and Ella Troxell, and Brian, Miley, Braiden, Brantley, and Colt Sutton; one sister, Billie Sutton; nieces and nephew, Tiffany Ferrell, Jared Duncan, and Courtney Duncan; along with a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Sutton and Bessie (Watson) Sutton.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home.
