Mollie Denney Koontz was born December 12, 1946, and departed this life Thursday, June 27, 2024, reaching the age of 77 years. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Georgia (Lee) Kennedy.

She is survived by: one brother, Jerry Ben Kennedy; and two sisters, Patsy Perdue and Polly Stinson (Mike); along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Kay Denney; her second husband, Roy Edward Koontz; her daughter, Delina Denney; one brother, William Bruce Kennedy; and one sister, Donna Neal.

Mollie was saved at an early age and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed basket weaving, different types of crafting, chair caning and weaving, and she loved to cook.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 28, 2024, between 6 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Gap Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
