Millard Rains was born June 9, 1916 and departed this life Friday, April 26, 2013 reaching the age of 96. He was the son of the late Wesley and Lula (Watkins) Rains.

He was united in marriage to Montie Lee Asberry and to this union 3 children were born.

He is survived by: 2 daughters, Dottie Massengale and Ruth Hicks; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Wesley and Lula Rains, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Montie Lee Rains; 2 brothers, Ansil and Howard Rains; and 5 sisters, Ernie Asberry, Mary Walker, Gracie Foister, Hazel Catron, and Ethel Marie Bertram.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 5-9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 1 pm at the Edwards Chapel with Bro. Corb Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Edwards Chapel Cemetery.
