Melissa Hancock was born November 12, 1968, and departed this life Wednesday, January 1, 2025, reaching the age of 56 years. She was the daughter of Gerald Bishop and Evelyn Joyce (Lafavers) Copley.

In addition to her parents, Gerald Bishop and Evelyn Copley, she is survived by: her husband, Larry Hancock; four children, Joshua Lance Hancock (Whitney), Dylan Joe Hancock (Jordan), Janae Hancock, and Joshua Bennett (Teresa); eight grandchildren, Cloe Hancock, Jazzmine Hancock, Reese Patrick, Wyatt Hancock, Whitley Hancock, Alexis Bennett, Tre Bennett and Bryson Bennett; two great grandchildren, Emery Bennett and Riley Bennett; and two sisters, Melinda Kinnett and Donna Spears; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025, 2025 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
