McWENDELL ALLEN was born January 15, 1932 and departed this life May 10, 2006 reaching the age of 74 years. He was the son of the late Othia (Peyton) and McKinley Allen.

He was united in marriage to Juanita Coffey and to this union five children were born.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Allen of Monticello, KY; three sons, Douglas Ray Allen of Lexington, KY, Willard Kay (Frances) Allen of Monticello, KY, and Dwight McKinley (Diatra) Allen of Lexington, KY; two daughters, Phyllis Ann Burnette of Monticello, KY, and Norma Cloyd of Nicholasville, KY. Also surviving him is one brother, Alonzo (Lena) Allen of Monticello, KY; one sister, Alie Miller of Akron, OH; one sister-in-law, Hazel Bobbitt of Cincinnati, OH. He is survived by twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, McKinley and Ophelia Allen; and one brother, George Allen.

He was a loving husband, grandfather, great grandfather, great grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: Sunday, May 14th after 5 pm and Monday, May 15th after 8 am
Funeral Service: Monday, May 15th at 1 pm
Interment: Monticello Cemetery
