Maxine Gossett was born August 1, 1940, and departed this life Monday, October 20, 2025, reaching the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of the late Hollis and Ellen (Slavens) Dishman.

She is survived by: two daughters, Carolyn Gossett and Sharon Hill (Allen); three grandchildren, Megan Cravens, Shawnna Troxell, and Bridgette Shelton; and eight great grandchildren. Alexis Coyle, Brylee Coyle, and Caeley Coyle, Dalton Shelton, Benson Troxell, Ava Cravens, Paxton Shelton and Amber Shelton. She is also survived by:  three sisters, Imogene Denney, Ruth Ann Hurd, and Brenda Upchurch; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Hollis and Ellen Dishman, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Claude Gossett; one son, Jeffery Gossett; and two brothers, Harold Dishman and Luke Dishman.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

he family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, between 4:30 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Lee Cemetery, in Nancy, KY.
