Mary Jane Thompson was born April 16, 1929 and departed this life Tuesday, June 26, 2012 reaching the age of 83. She was the daughter of the late Wes and Beulah (Feldy) Wallace.

She was united in marriage to Herman Thompson and to this union 12 children were born.

She is survived by: 4 daughters, Jean Lowhorn, Helen (Willard) Shelton, Mary Nell (Bobby) McIver, and Martha Thompson all of Albany, KY; 4 sons, Darrel (Gearldene) Thompson, Donald (Sue) Thompson, Ricky (Audrey) Thompson, and Joe Thompson of Monticello, KY;

She is also survived by: 22 grandchildren, Lisa Guffey Trobaugh, Wanda Jones, Becky Lowhorn, Tammy Lowhorn, Judy Schmenk, Dana Shelton, Angie Flowers, Melinda Burchett, David McIver, Carolyn Hughes, Wayne Thompson, Steven Thompson, Wendy Foster, Andrew Thompson, Stacy Godsey, Ashley Pitman, Tim Thompson, Larry Thomson, Richard Thompson, Trisha Gunter, Mindy Linder, and Amanda Thompson; 29 great grandchildren, Brittany Guffey, Natasha Gray, Dillon Flowers, Bailey Mullins, Brayden Lewis, Cheyenne Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Jessi Gunter, Taylor Thompson, Logan Daves, Tye Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Dayton Thompson, Destiny Linder, Cody Clingerman, Dylan Godsey, Tori Godsey, Keaton Pitman, Asa Flowers, Annastin, McIver, Madison McIver, Adrianna McIver, Samantha Thrasher, Abigail Burchett, Mathew Thompson, Kimberly Thompson, Tiffany Thompson, Bethany Thompson, Madison Hughes, and James Thompson; 6 great-great grandchildren, Kensay Dishman, Gracie Dishman, Lillie Dishman, Daniel Thompson, Aleeah Shelley, and Cannon Thrasher; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Wes and Beulah Wallace, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Herman Thompson; 4 children, Cornelius, Larry, Freddie, and Jerry Thompson; 4 grandchildren, Misty Dawn McIver, Josh Thompson, Sandra Kay Shelton, and Terry Thompson; 1 great grandchild, Samantha Guffey.

She was also preceded in death by: 5 brothers, Billy, Warren, Malcolm, Johnny, and Turner Wallace; and 3 sisters, Jeanette Wallace, Ruby Denney, and Mildred Wray.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 5- 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 at1 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. David Flagler and Bro. David McIver officiating. Burial will be in Gap Creek Cemetery.
