Mary J. Smith was born August 26, 1928 and departed this life Monday, January 18, 2010 reaching the age of 81 years. She was the oldest daughter of the late Miles and Martha (Humble) Parmley.

She was united in marriage to Harold H. Smith on January 31, 1949 at Roger's Grove, KY. To this union six children were born: Shirley (Steve) Sullivan, Samie (Earlene) Smith, David (Linda) Smith, Janet (Max) Worley, Danny (Melody) Smith, and Johnny (Sandy) Smith. She is also survived by: 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; daughter and son-in-laws; 3 sisters, Eva Whitt, Lela Daniels, and Jean Britt;3 brothers, James, Olen, and Donald Parmley; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Miles and Martha; 3 brothers, Glen, Robert, and Johnny Parmley; and 5 infant brothers and sisters.

She accepted the Lord as her Savior and was saved at the young age of 9. She was a member of Parnell Baptist Church until her passing.

She was a good and faithful wife of 61 years, a loving mother and a kind and motherly sister to all her family until her death. She will be sadly missed by all.
