Obituary
Mary "Irene" Koontz was born August 2, 1923 and departed this life Wednesday, October 9, 2013 reaching the age of 90. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Zona Lee (Barrier) Sexton.
She was united in marriage to Cosby Koontz and to this union 3 children were born.
She is survived by: one son, Bill Koontz of Monticello, KY; one daughter, Sandra Dolen of Monticello, KY; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by: four sisters, Doris Arthur of New Castle, IN, Imogene Evans and Ruth Thompson both of Bronston, KY, and Betty Hockman of Brandenburg, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, William and Zona Sexton, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Cosby Koontz; one son, Bobby Koontz; two brothers, Leonard and George Glen Sexton; and one sister, Rosalee Slagle.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 11am – 4pm at Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Friday, October 11, 2013 at 4pm Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Roger's Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may the form of donations to:
Roger's Grove Cemetery Fund or Gideons Bible Memorial Fund
