Mary Dodson was born October 14, 1926 and departed this life Sunday, August 30, 2015 reaching the age of 88 years. She was the daughter of the late James and Alice (Southwood) Burks.

She is survived by: one daughter, Deloris Knapp of Chillicothe, Illinois, a brother, Jack (and Lena) Burks of Monticello; a brother-in-law, Eldon "Cotton" Pennington of Monticello; one grandchild, Jason Knapp; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Chelsea Knapp; and two step great grandchildren, Talley Gentry and Rhonda Reagan; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, James and Alice Burks, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Lucius Humble; her 2nd husband, Paul Dodson; two brothers, Robert and Jimmy Burks; two sisters, Vena Peercy and Veola Pennington; and one step great grandchild, Derek Knapp.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will also be Tuesday at 2 pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
