Mary Gladys (Crabtree) Dennis went to her eternal rest June 9, 2025, reaching the age of 96 years, 8 months, 27 days.

She was born September 13, 1928, in Wayne County to Maude and Oscar Crabtree, who preceded her in death.

On February 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert Dennis and 11 children were born to this union. They were married for 71 years.

She is survived by: her children, Kathryn Coffey, Billie Crouch (Max), Carolyn Allen, and Danny Dennis, all of Monticello, Delmar (Doris) Dennis of Franklin, OH, Lois Moore and Brenda (Johnnie) Russell both of Russell Springs, and Tim Dennis of Elkins, WV; one brother, Willard Downs of Monticello; 23 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; and 35 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Dennis; three sons, Robert, Jimmie, and Jessie Dennis; five brothers, Levi Crabtree, Homer Crabtree, Earl Crabtree, Elsie Crabtree, and Raymond Downs; and four sisters, Elizabeth Coffey, Minnie Dugger, Betty Sue Downs, and Carlina Harrison.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
