Mary Jewell Crabtree was born April 16, 1937 and departed this life Tuesday, February 15, 2011 reaching the age of 73. She was the daughter of the late Sherman and Bertha Dovie (Duncan) Davis.

She was united in marriage to James Virgil Crabtree on November 21, 1959 and to this union 6 children were born.

She is survived by: 3 sons, John Criswell, Leroy Crabtree and Ronnie Joe Crabtree; 3 daughters, Debbie Flynn, Ellen Dobbs and Sylvia Laws; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild with 1 on the way. She is also survived by: 1 sister, Lilly Jaynes; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Sherman and Bertha Davis, she was preceded in death by: her husband, James Virgil Crabtree; 2 grandchildren, James Waylon Crabtree and Gary Catron; 2 brothers, Junior and Francis Davis; and 1 sister, Rowena Davis.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Decker, Bro. Buster Fulton, Bro. Todd Fulton, and Bro. Thomas Fulton officiating. Burial will be in New Sandusky Cemetery.
