Mary Sue Cooper was born July 1, 1948 and departed this life on Thursday, August 21, 2014 having reached the age of 66 years. She was the daughter of the Sherman and Alcie (Morrow) Clark.

She was united in marriage to Gary Cooper on March 7, 1970 and to this union 2 children were born.

She is survived by: her husband, Gary Cooper; 1 son, John Cooper (wife Latisha) of Monticello, KY; 1 daughter, Mary Beth Melton (husband Dustin) of Monticello, KY; 1 brother, Hurstel Clark, of Monticello, KY; 2 sisters, Artie Hammond of Monticello, KY and Lucille Mize of Waynesburg, KY. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Makena Lyn Cooper, William Lane Melton, Grace Elizabeth Melton, and Aiden Wyatt Cooper.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Sherman and Alcie Clark; 2 brothers, Robert and Rev. Vernon Clark; 3 sisters, Adell Thompson, Carol Lee Sexton Clark, and Addie Vaughn; as well as 4 siblings that died in infancy, Paul, Rosalee, Tildon, and Christine.

That family will receive friends on Saturday, August 23, 2014 after 5pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
