Marilyn Dobbs of Monticello, KY was born September 13, 1959 and departed this life Monday, June 15, 2020 reaching the age of 60 years. She was the daughter of the late Carrie (Crabtree) and J. D. Lackey (stepdad) and Adam Beaty (real dad).

She was united in marriage to Richard Dobbs on March 31, 1975 for 45 years; to this union they had two daughters.

She is survived by: her husband, Richard Dobbs of Monticello, KY; two daughters, Janet Huckaby (Mike) Huckaby and Kelli (Bryan) Bell; five grandchildren, Michael Huckaby (honorary pall bearer), Sara Huckaby, Justice, Madison, and Kenzie Bell; and four great grandchildren, Bryson, Jaxon, and Zaylon Bell and Bella Winchester. She is also survived by:  three sisters, Shirley (George) Bernard, Rosie (Clarence) Brady and Carolyn (Danny) Layman; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie and J. D. Lackey (Stepdad) and Adam Beaty (read dad); and five brothers, Sager Dave, Russell, Ridley and Burt Winningham; and one sister, Zodell Hysel.

Marilyn enjoyed being with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the strongest and most independent woman to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2020 between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Dobbs Cemetery.
