Margie Lee Lester Gibson was born February 17, 1936, and departed this life Sunday, November 16, 2025, reaching the age of 89 years. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Flossie Grace (Hurt) Lester.

She is survived by: one daughter, Kathy Turpin (Stephen); one stepson, Thomas Gibson; one step-daughter, Susan Gibson; son-in-law, Jim Stringer; sister-in-law, Janet Lester; grandchildren, Kimberly Laird (Coby), Shane Humble (Jackie), Isaac Stringer, Zachary Hall (Jessica), and Jennifer Gibson; and great grandchildren, Sydney, Thomas, Braxton, Jackson, and Luna; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Marvin and Flossie Lester, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Gibson; one daughter, Helen Stringer; two brothers, Lewis Lester and Martin Lester; and two sisters, Lois Lester and Lena Grace Slagle.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 20, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
