Lucille Thelma Carrender was born October 3, 1931 and departed this life Thursday, July 21, 2022 reaching the age of 90 years. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Burton and Ala Mae (McCutchen) Hicks.

She is survived by: one son, Rex (Janie) Carrender; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: two sons, Ronald Lee Carrender and Harold Dean Carrender; three brothers, Cosby, Cecil and Hobert Hicks; and four sisters, Mable Hicks, Lillian Teater, Janet Lair and Irene Coffey.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donnie Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Taylor's Grove Cemetery.
