Lorene Koontz Barnett was born July 24, 1933 and departed this life Monday, April 6 ^th , 2020, reaching the age of 86 years. She was the daughter of the late Delbie and Dora Lee (Barnes) Koontz.

On December 25, 1962, she was united in marriage to the late Randall Glenn Barnett and to this union two children were born, Jeffery (Mya) and Diane (Michael) Dalton, three grandchildren, Patrick (Ashlee) Barnett, Heather (Keith) Young, Ashley (Derik) Hart, and three great grandchildren, Waylon, Layne, and Maddie Barnett. She is also survived by one brother, Gary (Julie) Koontz and three sisters, Hazel Dick, Phyllis Neeley, and Gwen (Randall) Morrow, two sisters-in-law, Wilma and Mollie Koontz; and a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Edward and Benton Koontz, three sisters, Debra Koontz, Earlene Barnett and Cleo Coffey.

She was a longtime member of Spann Hill Baptist Church.

Two of Lorene's loves were her grandchildren and planting flowers every Spring. Within the last few years, she enjoyed the adult coloring books, which she did every morning and reading library books.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, and upon recommendations from the CDC for Funeral Homes, a PRIVATE funeral service will be held for Lorene Barnett.
