Lonnie Joe Shelton was born July 12, 1960, and departed this life Thursday, December 19, 2024, reaching the age of 64 years. He was the son of the late Everett and Derly (Meredith) Shelton.

He is survived by: his companion of 42 years, Louise Coffey; one son, Anthony Dishman (Kellie Brown); two daughters, Cynthia Johnson and Angela Phillips (Jeff); four grandchildren, Jarred Phillips, Ryan Dishman, Raelyn Dishman, and Ryder Dishman; and one great grandchild, Aurora Phillips. He is also survived by:  one brother, Porter Reed Shelton; and one sister, Maggie Meredith; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Everett and Derly Shelton, he was preceded in death by: brothers, Ed Ray Shelton, Norman, Shelton, Fred Howard "Booster" Shelton, Billy Everett Shelton, Sammy Shelton, David Ray Shelton, Jethro Shelton, Loren Foster, and George Foster; and sisters, Marlene Prince and Laura Phillips.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 21, 2024 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Crabtree Cemetery.
