Obituary

Lonnie Ray Piercy was born December 2, 1949, and departed this life Thursday, January 30, 2025, reaching the age of 75 years. Lonnie was the son of the late Casto and Lucy Piercy of the Shearer Valley Community. He was the devoted husband of Patty Bell Piercy, whom he married on August 19, 1972. A loving father, he is survived by his children, Eddie (Jennifer) Piercy and Terah Piercy.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his grandchildren, Chase Piercy, Riley Jones, Marianne Jones, Hayley Piercy, and Audrey Jones; his brothers, Donald (Joyce) Piercy and Russell (Linda) Piercy; and his sisters, Irene Davis, Norma Scalf, Christine Slagle, and Pamela Watkins. He is preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Piercy. Lonnie leaves behind a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory.

Lonnie dedicated himself to his home and farm in the Shearer Valley Community. Lonnie found no greater joy than being on his land. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. Gifted with a mechanical mind, he restored countless cars, built homes, and mastered various trades throughout his life. He had a deep appreciation for history and politics, a love for the 1960s and oldies music, and a fondness for tending to his cows and enjoying his ol' pipe.

Lonnie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, from 5-8pm in the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at 1pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Piercy Family Cemetery.

Military Honors will be performed by the DAV Chapter #105.
