Lois Lorene Cross was born March 25, 1938 and departed this life Saturday, February 19, 2022 reaching the age of 83 years. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Clovie (Beaty) Rains.

She married Jay Edgar Cross and to this union two children were born.

She is survived by: two daughters, Tammy (Richard) Dishman and Tonia (Mark) Smith; five grandchildren, Tyler Joe Dishman, Charlie (Gretchen) Dishman, Zachary (Lauren) Dishman, Madison Smith, and Chloe Smith; and one great grandchild, Chandler Dishman. She is also survived by:  four brothers, Gene, Earl, Kenneth and Donnie Rains; and one sister, Letha Boils; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Cross.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Gap Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
