IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois
Albertson
September 1, 1942 – June 5, 2021
Lois B. Albertson was born September 1, 1942 in Cambridge City, Indiana. She was the daughter of Abe and Bonnie (Rader) Gabbard who preceded her in death.
In 1976 she and her son moved to Monticello, Kentucky to start a life with Kenneth Albertson. They were married on March 28, 1980. On January 22, 2021 Kenneth passed away after being together for 48 years. She is also preceded in death by a grandson, Jonah Cade Albertson; 4 sisters, Joyce, Marcia, Shirley, and Loretta; and 2 brothers Odell and Abe, Jr.
Left to cherish and carry on her love and memory are 4 children, Bill (April) Hollon, Melanie (Andy) Smith, Kenny (Bethany) Albertson, and Anita (Seth) Bowman; 17 grandchildren, Krista, Tabitha, William, Stephen, Kristin, Emily, Carter, Evan, Chloe, Carson, Kaleb, Amelia, Cailyn, Liam, Eli, Josie, and Addie; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 brother, Berchel (Rita) Gabbard; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lois was a member of First Christian Church where she helped cook and serve Wednesday night meals. She was an amazing cook, who loved to cook big meals for her family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
She also loved to work in her flower beds and make them absolutely beautiful, play endless games of Yahtzee, reading, and doing word search puzzles.
Lois Absolutely loved her children and grandchildren and always made sure they knew that. She left behind so many beautiful memories for her children to cherish and pass along. She had a heart of gold and has left behind a void that can never be filled.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 12-2pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2pm with burial to follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
