IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Sue
Shelton
February 16, 1949 – May 31, 2020
Linda Sue Shelton was born on February 16 th , 1949 to the late Oakley and Sophie Fowler. She left the earthly world to reside with her Heavenly Father on May 31 st , 2020 reaching the age of 71 years.
Linda came from a small family. She had one half sister, Betty Jean Miller, who preceded her in death. She united in marriage with the love of her life, Freddie on March 16 th , 1971. They were blessed with one daughter; the light of their lives, Charlotte.
Linda is also survived by the son she never had, her son-in-law, Thomas, and one grandson, who immediately became her world, Titus Grey & two very special "granddogs," Buster & Buddy. She is also survived by some of the best of friends, who were more like family; Betty Alexander, Lynetta Corder, Linda Turner, & Edith Frye. As well as being a wonderful & beloved friend; she became a second mother to several who survive her also: Beth Craig, Ashley and Tyler Parrish, Tonya, Brandon, Nicky, and Lindsay McClellan.
Linda spent many of her years as a seamstress. Many who knew her now hold onto treasured homemade gifts she sent to them throughout the years. It was also never uncommon to receive a card in the mail from her for every occasion, signed with one of her signature smiley faces.
Linda was also a proud member of Rogers Grove Baptist Church. She gave her life to the Lord as a young girl. She adored her church family and spent many years teaching crafts at Bible School with lots of laughs. She is well known for her one-liners in various church plays that left everyone laughing. She also proudly served alongside Freddie as the women's chaplain of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Linda held many titles, but among her favorites were the title of Wife, Mom, Granny, & friend. She will be forever missed by all who blessed to know her.
There will be a drive-through visitation at Roger's Grove Baptist Church, Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 5 pm until 9 pm. There will be a private family service held at Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Hospice of Lake Cumberland or MPS Society
