Lilly Rose Catron Shearer was born June 15, 1931, and departed this life on September 7, 2024, reaching the age of 93.  She was born to Dave and Willie Bertram Catron, the youngest of 8 brothers and sisters.  On December 9, 1949, she married Lynn Shearer and two sons, Michael and Gordon were born to that union. She was a faithful member of the Shearer Valley Church of Christ until her health prevented her attendance.

She is survived by sons Michael and Gordon (Peggy); two grandchildren, Aaron (Jessika) and Whitney (Chad Frazier); four grandchildren, Addison and Owen Frazier, and Silas and Graceyn Shearer; nephews, Glen Bertram (Mary Ann), Ronnie Catron (Joellen), Billy Catron (Barbara), and Steve Burris  ( Barbara), Richard Sawyer, Barton Ramsey (Allison), Kent Shearer (Ann); nieces, Phyllis Wise (GL), Elsie Denney, Betty Poe, Rosetta Ramsey Rush (Bill), JoAnn Sawyer Owens (Eddie) and Donna Shearer Butler (David); and several great-nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded her in death by her parents, Dave and Willie Catron; her husband, Lynn; in-laws, Allen and Ladona Shearer,  brothers and sisters:  Esco (Josephine), Fred (Sybil), Dona Huckaby (Ike), Lucy Bertram (Vernon), Emmett (Glee), Elmer (Letha), and Myrtle Burris (Paul);  brother and sisters-in-law, Allene Ramsey (Barton), Lois Sawyer (Bill), and Bill Shearer (Barbara);  nephews and nieces David Catron, Phillip Catron (Dorcus), Kay Bertram, Bruce Bertram, Jerry Bertram, Richard Burris and Mark Shearer.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024, between 10 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
