Leland Kennedy was born April 21, 1939 and departed this life Monday, November 29, 2010 reaching the age of 71. He was the son of the late Otto and Mossie (Dishman) Kennedy.

He was united in marriage to Bessie Peavie and to this union 2 children were born.

He is survived by: 2 daughters, Deloris Carroll of Monticello, KY and Linda Brown of Somerset, KY; and 3 grandchildren, Janet Burke, Shawn and Eric Hill. He is also survived by: 2 brothers, Mintford and Ronnie Kennedy both of Monticello, KY; and 1 sister, Kathy Easterly of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Otto and Mossie Kennedy, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Bessie Kennedy; 1 brother, Kenneth Kennedy and 2 brothers in infancy; and 1 sister in infancy.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 5- 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2010 at 1 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Dishman Cemetery.
