Lela Darlene "Simpson" Phelps was born April 3, 1957 and departed this life Wednesday, January 8, 2020 reaching the age of 62 years. She was the daughter of Shirley (Woody) Simpson and the late David Simpson.

In addition to her mother, Shirley Simpson, she is survived by: her son, Bradley Phelps; her daughter, Priscilla Corder (Lori); four grandchildren, Devan Phelps, Searra Phelps, Tiffany Phelps, and Shay Phelps; and one great grandchild, Bryson.

She is also survived by:  three brothers, Wallace (Sylvia) Simpson, Wayne (Ellen) Simpson, and Charles (Patty) Simpson; two sisters, Judy Thompson (John) and Nancy Troxell (Dave); one niece, Carla Upchurch; and three nephews, Keith Simpson, Derick Simpson and Brian Simpson; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2020 between 4 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
