Mrs. Leatrice G. Selvidge, 93, widow of the late W.T. Selvidge, Jr., passed away on May 5 ^th , 2022, at the Wayne County Hospital.

Born on April 15 ^th , 1929, she was the daughter of Elva Work Gibson and stepdaughter of Everett M. Gibson, both deceased.

Leatrice married W.T. Selvidge, Jr. on March 7 ^th , 1948, and to this union were born two sons: Dr. William M. Selvidge (Linda) and Everett G. Selvidge (special friend, Gleta Dalton). Besides her sons, she is survived by two grandchildren: Becca Fox (Michael Favor) and David Selvidge (Rachel), and four great-grandchildren: Willem and Scarlett Fox and Clayton and Olivia Selvidge, as well as Cousin Terry Work and sister-in-law Gwendolyn Selvidge. By these family members, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends, she will be sorely missed.

Leatrice was a housewife, a homemaker, and a caring and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Junior owned and operated the Selvidge Star Market from 1950 to 1986. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Monticello, KY, attending services there for many years as her health permitted. Her love for Christ and others was evident, making a lasting impact on countless families and individuals.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 7, 2022 between 10 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to:  Mountain View Baptist Camp
