Lawrence Dick was born November 4, 1928 and departed this life Thursday, May 16, 2019 reaching the age of 90 years. He was the son of the late Isaac and Ottie (Morrow) Dick.

He married Gwen Abbott on May 22, 1954 – this year would have made their 65 ^th anniversary.

He is survived by: his wife, Gwen Dick; one son, Wade Dick; one daughter, Renee Kieras; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. He is also survived by: one brother, Floyd Dick; and one sister, Wilma Dick; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Ellis, William Lloyd, and Cecil Dick; and four sisters, Bernice Eula Dick, Zollie Dick, Dorothy Roberts, and Mary Daniel.

Lawrence was a proud U.S. Army Veteran having served his country faithfully during the Korean War. He was a member and deacon of Elk Valley Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 18, 2019 between 5 pm – 8 pm and Sunday, May 19, 2019 between 8 am – 11 am in the chapel of the funeral home. The body will lie in state at Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church on Sunday, May 19 ^th from 1 pm – 2 pm.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 2 pm at the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.  Military honors will be performed by our local DAV Chapter 105.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:  Gideon Memorial Bible Plan, Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church Building Fund
