Larry Hughes was born April 6, 1961. He was the son of the late Ervin and Imogean (Lyons) Hughes. He departed this life Thursday, December 21, 2023, reaching the age of 62 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hughes and two sons, Shawn Buswell (Ashley) and Dewayne Hughes (Dewayne). Along with five grandchildren, Maggie and Charlie Hughes, Drew, Katey, and Raelan Buswell. He is also survived by two siblings, Gary Hughes (Sheila); and one sister, Linda Riddle.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, along with one brother, Ronald Hughes; and one sister, Carolyn Hughes.

Larry accepted Jesus as his Savior on December 14, 2023.

To know Larry was to have a friend for life that would always be there when you needed him.  He always took care of his family no matter what happened in life. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and taking them for daily 4-wheeler and tractor rides. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. You would always find Larry with a smile on his face and a memory to talk about. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Hughes Family Cemetery.
