Lank John Kendrick, 87, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:08 pm April 24, 2020 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born May 14, 1932 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Westley and Marie (Duncan) Kendrick. Lank married B. Jean Kendrick on February 14, 1952.

Lank is survived by his sister, Ella Mary Kendrick of Chicago, Illinois, children, Debra Hopgood of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Rozalind Kendrick Hopgood of Bloomington, Illinois, L. John Kendrick, Jr. of Louisville, Illinois, Marvin (Joann) Kendrick of Fresno, California, Noah (Trish) Kendrick of Windham, Ohio; special cousins, Ray and Kendrick Washam of Detroit, Michigan, Florence Duncan Garth of Monticello, Kentucky; grandchildren, Heather (Troy) Franklin, Lorena (Edward) Grantham, Terence (Julie) Kendrick, Chad (Ashley) Kendricks,Wesley (Trystica) Kendrick, Candace (Adam) Allen, Jillian (Nevin) Hopgood Kobin, Mychal Kendricks, Ryan Kendrick, Ashley Hopgood, Eric Kendricks, Danielle Kendricks, Noah (Lydia) Kendrick of US Navy, Mike Curuk, Kendrick Curuk, Crickit Curuk; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Lank was preceded in death by his sisters, Loutilla Looney and Jo Catherine Hardwick, and daughter, Dawn Curuk.

Mr. Kendrick proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1953 - 1956. He owned Kendrick Paper Stock 1956-2019, Stepping Out Lounge 1979-1992, and King City Disposal 1956-1985. Lank served on the Jefferson County Housing Authority Board, Jefferson County Health Department Board, past recipient of the Governors Corporate Recycling Award, and a member of Corinthian Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and a true friend.
