Kenneth "Huel" Kennedy was born July 5, 1936, and died on July 5, 2025. His parents were Robert Ezra and Lue Hicks Kennedy.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ilene Roberts Kennedy.

He is survived by his children, Stacey Kennedy, Stephanie (Vincent) Tackett, and Amy (Brian) Kidd. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Elaine (David) Sadler and Brady Kidd. He has one surviving great grandson, Kyler Ray Sadler. Surviving him is his special friend, Ruby Key.

He is preceded in death by six brothers, Lloyd (Laura Mae) Kennedy, James (Dorothy) Kennedy, Frank (Mildred) Kennedy, Robert, Jr. (Wilma) Kennedy, Cecil (Margaret) Kennedy, and Arvil (Reno) Kennedy. He also had four sisters, Lucy (Johnny) Barrier, Flonnie (Troy) Campbell, Jr., Bonnie (James) Rector, and Christine (Roy) Abbott.

Huel died doing what he loved, taking care of the farm. Though the loss is deeply painful, we find comfort in knowing he was met at Heaven's gates with open arms.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
