Kenneth Bowlin was born June 29, 1935 and departed this life Thursday, January 10, 2013 reaching the age of 77. He was the son of the late Leslie and Lou (Brummett) Bowlin.

He is survived by: his wife, Mary Kay Bowlin of Monticello, KY; 2 daughters, Debbie Bowlin (Scott) Large of Cookeville, TN and Linda Bowlin Adkins of Monticello, KY; former son-in-law, Bruce Adkins; 4 grandchildren, Lindsey Large, Chris Large, Chad (Brittany) Adkins and Sherry Adkins (Jordan) Chriswell; and 1 great granddaughter (who was named after Kenneth and Mary Kay) Kinsley M'Kay Chriswell. Kenneth was the baby of his family of 12 children and is survived by: 1 sister, Francis Dugger of Lima, OH; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Leslie and Lou Bowlin, he was preceded in death by: his son, Kenneth Ray Bowlin, Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Margie (Poore) Bowlin; 2 brothers, Earl and Claude Bowlin; and 8 sisters, Ruth Brown, Jewel Lair, Marie Bowlin, Shirley Stinson, Lena Naftzger, Pauline Bowlin, Ovaline Bowlin, and Opal Kelley.

Kenneth operated a local business, Bowlin's Used Furniture for 46 years. He enjoyed working and talking to his customers. He also loved collecting and trading knives; as well as listening to and telling stories.

He was led to Christ through his daughter, Debbie Large on February 27, 1998 at the age of 62. He attended Sam Humble's Life Temple Church and was currently attending Mt. Pleasant Fellowship with Bro. Darrell Bunch when his health permitted. He loved God and prayed every day for his family to all be saved. He had a strong faith in God, his Savior. After he found out he was sick, his favorite quote was "I'm no worse today than I was yesterday. I wasn't promised a tomorrow."
