Kayla Thompson was born July 13, 1983 and departed this life Saturday, May 7, 2011 reaching the age of 27. She was the daughter of Wayne Johnson and the late Myrtle "Ada" (Phillips) Johnson.

She was united in marriage to Joshua Thompson and to this union 1 child was born. She preceded her husband, Joshua Thompson in death.

She is survived by: her son, James Wayne Thompson; and her father, Wayne Johnson. She is also survived by: 6 brothers, Lonnie Wayne (Laura) Johnson, Matthew (Lacrisha) Hicks, Dylan Johnson, Cody Johnson, Joshua Johnson and Jordan Johnson; and 2 sisters, Julie Lynn Johnson and Crystal Gale (Michael) Smith; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 4 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 1 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gap Creek Cemetery.
