Kayla Jo Hancock was born August 16, 1991 and departed this life Monday, March 15, 2021 reaching the age of 29 years. She was the daughter of Lisa (Morgan) Powell and Kevin Gregory.

She is survived by: her husband, Cody Hancock and her children, Riley Hancock and Scarlett Hancock. She is also survived by: her mother, Lisa (J.B.) Powell; her father, Kevin (Sandra) Gregory; her siblings, Matthew (Alli Fogle) Gregory, Brandon (Erin) Powell, Whitney (Greg) Hicks, Cory Stearns, and Jessica Stearns; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She worked for several years as a 911 Dispatcher; assisting many people through serious and life-threatening circumstances. She loved her job and continued her work as long as her health allowed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 18, 2021 between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
