Kay D. Upchurch was born December 28, 1939 and departed this life Sunday, August 14, 2016 reaching the age of 76 years. He was the son of the late Herbie and Ethel (Owens) Upchurch.

He married Ruth Morgan and to this union three children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Ruth Upchurch; two sons, Edwin and Jeff Upchurch; one daughter, Anita Upchurch Edwards; and 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by: five brothers, Clyde, Keith, Curtis, Gale, and Larry Upchurch; and four sisters, Leacher Carter, Pauline Ziglar, Margie Faye Davis, and Lena Stockett; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Herbie and Ethel Upchurch, he was preceded in death by two infant siblings.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 after 4 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Kay Upchurch Memorial Fund or Fall Creek United Baptist Church.
