IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia
Sims
November 10, 1952 – December 11, 2023
Julia Inez (Boston) Sims, 71, was received by our Heavenly Father to eternal life on Monday, December 11, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Ola Jackson and Thelma (Lovell) Boston.
She shared 51 amazing years with her loving and faithful husband Douglas Sims. In marriage, the two were blessed with two sons and one grandchild who were the light of her life. Julia always dedicated her time and support to all of those around her. There was no one that could warm a heart with a hug like she could with her warm embrace. Everyone who was blessed by her grace and love will never forget the sweet ambiance she carried everywhere she went. Her family and faith were always most important to her. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the family farm, visiting with family and friends and serving her community working for the Wayne County Hospital in Administration and Maintenance for 50 years.
She is survived by: her husband, Douglas Sims; two sons, Stephen Sims (Ara) and Byron Sims (Lori Jo); and one grandchild, Maggie Jo Sims. She is also survived by: two brothers, Dan Boston (Glenna) and Charles Boston (Phyllis); and three sisters, Betty Buckley, Sue Bassett (Hank) and Carolyn Speer; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Ola and Thelma Boston, she was preceded in death by: five brothers, Preston, Joe, Gilbert, Tom, and Frank Boston; and two sisters, Joyce Abbott and Nell Coop.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2023, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to join us at the Boston Farm following the burial ceremony at Elk Spring Cemetery.
