Judith Lynne Storey Cowan was born November 13, 1944, in Oneida, TN to James Robert and Nixola Smith Storey. On May 17, 2023, she passed away at her home surrounded by family.

She was united in marriage to Charles Edgar Cowan, Jr. on June 13, 1964 in Somerset, KY.

She graduated from Oakdale High School in Oakdale, TN in 1962.  She worked for over 40 years at the Somerset Oil Refinery and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Monticello. She was an avid Tennessee fan and loved to talk about her grandbabies and support them in anything they were involved with.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Josh) New and Jennifer Cowan; her grandchildren, Chuck Burton, Kara Burton, and Makenna New; her niece, Tabatha White; her nephew, Jim Storey; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Janie) Cowan; and a special best friend, Ashley Bertram; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Edgar Cowan, Jr.; her precious son, Charles Edgar "Chuck" Cowan, III; her brother, James Ronald "Ron" Storey; and nephews, Terry Cowan and Robbie Storey.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21, 2023, between 5 pm – 8 pm Monticello First Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10 am at the Monticello First Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:  First Baptist Church of Monticello Mission Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland
