Juanita Abbott Coffey was born May 21, 1927, and departed this life Sunday, October 20, 2024, reaching the age of 97 years. She was the daughter of the late Rupert Orvin and Cordie (Manco) Abbott.

She married Bennie Bryan Coffey and four children were born to this union.

She is survived by: two daughters, Jacqueline Daffron (Danny) and Jennifer Brown (Buster); six grandchildren, David W. Sexton, Suzanne Sexton, Bryan Coffey, Jordan Coffey (Teresa), Taylor Coffey (Mallory), Jason Brown (Courtney), and Natalie Blanchet, (Mark); seven great grandchildren, Kayla Miller (Brian), Elijah Coffey, James Coffey, Jameson Coffey, Quinn Coffey, Brennan Brown, and Alexandra Brown; and two great-great grandchildren, Emma Miller and Evelyn Miller.

She is also survived by:  five sisters, Wanda Lee Humble, Gwen Dick, Brenda Orr (Walter), Linda Perdue (Dale), and Carlotta Abbott; and one brother, Kenneth Abbott; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Rupert and Cordie Abbott, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Bennie Coffey; two sons, Bennie Coffey, Jr. and Bill Coffey; one grandson, Zachary Coffey; one brother, Orvin Rue Abbott; and two sisters, Nancy Ipock and Nadine McCune.

Juanita was a longtime volunteer at the Wayne County Historical Society and was an avid UK fan.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2024, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2024, at 12 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
