Joyce Ann Peavie Gilmore was born May 7, 1939 and departed this life Tuesday, February 1, 2022 reaching the age of 82 years. She was the daughter of the late Sherman and Exie (Brown) Hicks.

She is survived by: her husband, Harold Gilmore; two daughters, Earlene Shelton and Sharon Thrasher; two grandchildren, Sheri Meadows and Derek Shelton; six grandchildren, Alex, Luke, Wesley, Emmy, Elizabeth and Magnolia; and one brother, Cecil Hicks; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Peavie.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 7, 2022 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
