Joyce Carter Patton was born August 4, 1936 and departed this life Thursday, September 16, 2021 reaching the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of the late Sterling Lawson and Ada (Barnett) Carter.

She is survived by: her siblings, June Ramsey, Patricia Hallman, and Bobby Carter; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Patton; siblings; Glen Carter, Leonard Carter,  Louise Brown, and Betty Hines.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 between 10 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:  Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Mill Springs Christian Church
